On the afternoon of October 12, 2023, the Yangtze River Delta (Wuxi) Electric Vehicle Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Park was officially opened in Yingyue Lake Science and Technology Park, Xishan District, Wuxi City. At the scene, the Wuxi Electric Vehicle Industry Intellectual Property Protection Alliance was unveiled at the same time, and a number of cooperation projects were signed and landed, injecting strong momentum into Xishan's acceleration of building a 100-billion-level electric vehicle industrial cluster.

Cross-border trade connects the international and domestic markets and resources, and plays an important role in building a new development pattern. Xishan District, Wuxi City, is one of the birthplaces of the domestic electric vehicle industry, and the electric vehicle and parts industry cluster has been selected as a national characteristic industrial cluster for small and medium-sized enterprises. In recent years, Xishan District has actively integrated into the construction of the "Belt and Road", deeply implemented the "cross-border e-commerce + industrial belt" cultivation plan in Wuxi, and promoted the "one district, one product" cross-border e-commerce brand to go overseas. 

According to reports, the Yangtze River Delta (Wuxi) electric vehicle cross-border e-commerce industrial park is a cross-border e-commerce professional service platform and cross-border e-commerce talent training base with cross-border trade of electric vehicles as the core created by Xidong New Town Business District and Alibaba Group resources, with the goal of forming a prototype of a local cross-border e-commerce platform by 2025, incubating 6 100 million-level cross-border e-commerce sellers, building 10 cross-border e-commerce brands, cultivating 1,000 cross-border e-commerce talents, and achieving a cross-border export volume of "1 billion +". 

Zhang Yujing, President of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, said in her speech that with the integration of green and low-carbon concepts into daily life, the global electric vehicle industry has ushered in a new stage of rapid development. Xishan District is an important domestic electric vehicle production and export base, and has set an industry benchmark in the country by promoting the integrated development of cross-border e-commerce and industry. As a national industry organization with more than 10,000 member companies and extensive international and domestic cooperation channels, the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products will actively use its own resource advantages to jointly promote the steady and far-reaching development of Wuxi Xishan electric vehicle export industry.

Gu Wenhao, head of Xishan District Government, said in his speech that the official opening of the Yangtze River Delta (Wuxi) Electric Vehicle Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Park marks that the Xishan electric vehicle cross-border e-commerce industry has embarked on a new track of specialization and digitalization. Xishan will fully integrate the advantages of the electric vehicle industry and the operation advantages of Alibaba's cross-border platform, build a bridge between the government, the industry and enterprises, and continue to help foreign trade and empower the industry. At the event site, the establishment ceremony of the "Wuxi Electric Vehicle Industry Intellectual Property Protection Alliance" jointly initiated by Wuxi Intellectual Property Association, Xishan Electric Vehicle Foreign Trade Association and well-known electric vehicle brand enterprises was held. The heads of the Municipal Intellectual Property Office, the Municipal Intermediate People's Court, the Municipal Procuratorate, the Municipal Public Security Bureau, Wuxi Customs, the Wuxi Arbitration Commission, the Municipal Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Municipal Intellectual Property Protection Center, the Municipal Intellectual Property Association, and the Xishan District Electric Vehicle Foreign Trade Association jointly unveiled the alliance.

Centralized signing was held at the event site, a number of strategic cooperation was reached, and a number of innovation and entrepreneurship projects were settled. The People's Government of Xishan District signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, and the Xishan District Electric Vehicle Foreign Trade Association signed a cooperation agreement with the Research Institute of China (Wuxi) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone. The Management Committee of Xidong New Town Business District signed strategic cooperation agreements with China National Building Materials International Trade Co., Ltd. Yidanwang New Energy Sector Overseas Project and French VW International Marketing Communication (China) Co., Ltd. Customer Brand Overseas Project. Six companies, including carbon fiber composite material e-commerce project, electric scooter e-commerce project, new energy storage e-commerce project, E-bike brand e-commerce project, cross-border e-commerce overseas certification project, and electric motorcycle accessories e-commerce project, signed contracts to settle in the industrial park. 

According to reports, the industrial park will actively build a diversified ecosystem, pay close attention to key links such as logistics and transportation, customs clearance services, overseas warehouse construction, intellectual property protection, etc., provide multi-dimensional support and whole-process services, and help enterprises accelerate their overseas and sail with the help of cross-border e-commerce. Xishan will focus on the integrated development of "cross-border e-commerce + industrial belt", form a comprehensive and functional industrial chain and ecosystem, and create a new highland for industrial development.
