Is there any drama in China regarding the rapid development of electric scooters at sea
2023-10-27

Most of our electric scooters are exported to overseas markets and are very popular in these markets Zhou Ying, Vice President of Wuxi Inspection, Testing and Certification Research Institute, revealed to a reporter from New Consumer Daily.

According to Boston Consulting data, as of May 2022, the global micro transportation market, mainly composed of electric scooters and electric two wheeled vehicles, has reached nearly 100 billion euros in size, and is expected to have a compound annual growth rate of over 30% in the next decade.

As of now, there are at least 100 cities worldwide that have shared electric scooters, including Europe, North America, South America, Australia, South Asia, and other regions. In recent years, electric scooters have also emerged in first and second tier cities in China.

Overall, China is currently the leading producer and exporter of electric scooters in the global market.

However, it is worth noting that due to the introduction of various legalized standards overseas, electric scooters have become one of the short transportation means to solve the "last mile" problem. In the domestic market, electric scooters have been unable to obtain the "right of way" due to the lack of policy regulations. But with the release of the first national standard related to electric scooters recently, this situation is expected to improve.

Essentially, the needs of global users for urban travel are basically the same. "Li Yan, CEO of Xiaoniu Electric, stated in an interview with a reporter from New Consumer Daily that the challenge for electric scooters to go global is to make targeted products based on different traffic management regulations in different countries.
