On September 28, 2022, the inaugural meeting of Xishan District Electric Vehicle Foreign Trade Association was successfully held. As an important starting point for Xishan to actively integrate into the new pattern of domestic and international "dual circulation" development and seize the new opportunity for RCEP to take effect, the establishment of Xishan Electric Vehicle Foreign Trade Association will accelerate the capture of overseas markets by electric vehicle companies and inject strong momentum into the high-quality development of the open economy in the region. Guo Kuilong, Secretary-General of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Machinery, delivered a video speech, Jiang Bo, deputy director of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce, attended the meeting to congratulate and speak, Lu Xiaobo, deputy head of the district, and Shi Xilian, vice chairman of the district CPPCC and chairman of the District Federation of Industry and Commerce, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Xishan District Electric Vehicle Foreign Trade Association signed a strategic framework agreement with Wuxi Office of China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation and Wuxi Intellectual Property Association, which is an important measure for the association to help enterprises seize orders, open up financing, and go to sea steadily.

The electric vehicle industry is one of the "four new and four strong" industrial clusters that our district is striving to build, and it is also expected to become the first landmark industrial cluster with a revenue of more than 100 billion yuan in the future. The annual output of the whole vehicle in the region is more than 14 million, accounting for more than 1/3 of the national output, 6 of the top 10 electric vehicle enterprises in Xishan, 15 provincial and municipal engineering technology research centers, 12 provincial and municipal enterprise technology centers, and technical inspection service institutions such as the national light electric vehicle and battery product quality inspection center, and have been approved as a national foreign trade transformation and upgrading base and a provincial industrial design service trade base. 

Last year, the "two wheels" industry export enterprises reached 146, the export amount of 408 million US dollars, an increase of 44.4% year-on-year, in the first half of this year still continued the rapid growth momentum, handed over a gratifying report card, the "two cars" industry exports of 224 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 28.6%.

On behalf of the Wuxi Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Jiang Bo expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the establishment of the association. He said that electric vehicle enterprises in Xishan District should focus on the proposition of doing a good job in exports, share resources, win-win cooperation, and develop together, so as to promote the vigorous development of the city's electric vehicle industry. The association should give full play to the role of the link and bridge between the government and enterprises, strengthen investigation and research, timely reflect the problems and difficulties encountered in the process of enterprise development to the government, provide efficient and high-quality services for the majority of members, innovate service concepts, broaden service areas, and establish an effective information network.

Lu Xiaobo said that in recent years, Xishan has actively integrated into the construction of the "Belt and Road", participated in the implementation of RCEP with high quality, supported local electric vehicle companies to accelerate the pace of "going global", and expanded overseas markets through cross-border going overseas. The district government will, as always, be the strongest backing for the development of enterprises, accelerate the introduction of special support policies for foreign trade of electric vehicles, strengthen and optimize the cross-border e-commerce industrial park of electric vehicles, and help enterprises become bigger and stronger in the global market. 

In the next stage, the association will focus on the theme of "cohesion and carbon neutrality, going to sea", continuously improve the quality of export electric vehicles, continuously enhance international competitiveness, accelerate the occupation of the international market, and make new and greater contributions to the construction of a high-quality development benchmark area in Xishan District.
